Remote Learning - EYFS

F1 and Beehive

The Beehive and F1 team are still here looking after your children's wellbeing and learning during this lockdown.

Mrs Loftus is working from home and, along with Miss Angell, is planning all of the daily challenges which are available for you and your child to access each day if they are not attending F1 or Beehive. Mrs Loftus is also available to speak to parents/carers as well as children at any point during the day to celebrate with you or to support you in any way she can.

Each week, like the previous lock-down, staff will contact you to check that everything is going well and to see if there is anything else we can do to help.  If you require any additional support with your child’s learning at home, you can contact us via Tapestry or MCAS and someone will get back to you.

If children are self-isolating, there is an expectation that children will still complete work daily following the timetable that is suggested below for their class and return work through Tapestry, so that the teachers can celebrate your achievements, provide feedback and support with next steps for your child’s learning.

Every day Mrs Loftus be on Tapestry to say ‘hello’ and explain the learning for the day which includes:

  • Daily Wake Up, Shake Up challenges – including Coach Jack and Coach Paul!
  • Daily phonics and rhyme time challenges
  • Daily maths challenges
  • Daily topic challenges
  • Daily story time

The daily learning challenges reflect the learning taking place in the classroom. For more challenges and information, please read the parent/carers learning information document on this page.

F2

The F2 team are in school working with children in school and those at home to make sure the children continue on their brilliant learning journeys!

Mrs Dervy is working from school and is planning and uploading all of the learning challenges and lessons to Tapestry for the children who are learning from home.

We have a suggested timetable in our ‘Parents/carers learning information’ document which details the daily learning available on Tapestry including:

  • PE with Coach Paul & Coach Jack
  • RWInc
  • Talk 4 Writing
  • Maths
  • Core Knowledge Curriculum
  • Story time

Don’t forget to join us for our live ‘Star of the Week’ assemblies and live ‘Story Time’ assemblies – if you have a story request, please let Mrs Dervy know through Tapestry.

Each week, like the previous lock-down, staff will contact you to check that everything is going well and to see if there is anything else we can do to help.  If you require any additional support with your child’s learning at home, you can contact us via Tapestry or MCAS and someone will get back to you.

EYFS

In addition to the tasks we post, either in Beehive, F1 or F2, please remember all of the things you do are key learning opportunities at home and a little focus each day makes a massive difference!

Here’s some ideas:

  1. Can your child dress and undress independently? If yes can they do it by a count of 10 or do up zips and shoes?
  2. Can your child help make lunch or dinner? And help lay the table?
  3. Can they put their toys/clothes away independently?
  4. Can they help sort the washing into family members and pair up the socks?
  5. Can they draw or colour a picture for a family member and send it in the post? To cheer them up?
  6. Can they help you dust or hoover their home? Building their body strength?
  7. Can they count items in the kitchen?
  8. Can they describe what they during their daily walk?

Everything you do in your day to day life is a learning opportunity for your child.  It would be great to see these added to Tapestry also, so we can see the progress they are making and the fun you are having.
