World War 2 in Y6
Y6 have really enjoyed our history work on WW2. We recently recently Eden Camp and we held a VE celebration in the hall. Today we welcomed a local historian, Mr Chapman, to Y6 who spoke to us about when Hull City Centre was bombed. He also told us a fascinating story about when an RAF plane crashed onto houses on Wold Road in 1942. In art, we have been inspired by the WW2 artist Paul Nash and created our own paintings in his style. Y6 have also been reading Anne Frank's diary and various other non fiction texts about the war. Christmas preparations are also underway and we enjoyed baking Christmas biscuits to sell at Winter Wonderland.
