Shakespeare, Suspense and Scientists
Year 5 have been incredibly busy and enthusiastic in their learning so far this term!
In reading, we have been exploring Romeo and Juliet. The children have loved delving into Shakespearean language and rising to the challenge of understanding it. We even brought the text to life by acting out the famous balcony scene. In writing, we have truly blown our teachers away with our suspense stories. Our use of vocabulary, relative clauses, similes and direct speech has been fantastic, creating atmosphere and really setting the scene for the readers. In maths, we have been learning all about angles. The children have worked hard to identify and measure angles accurately, spending plenty of time practising how to use protractors correctly. As scientists, we have continued our topic on electricity. We have been learning about the potential dangers of electricity and discussing how to stay safe when using it in everyday life.
Well done, Year 5, for your hard work and enthusiasm across all areas of learning!
