There has been a real buzz around TLP because it has been Mental Health Week! We started the week by giving out compliments and smiles, the children have really loved expressing to their friends how fantastic they are, There have been smiles and compliments galore for everyone, Mrs Riley has kept them topped up daily for those who wanted to pass the compliments along.

Our Wonderful Wold Community

The theme for Mental Health week was community. The children discussed what this word meant to them and we were able to create a word cloud with all the different parts of our community. We also celebrated a sense of belonging by creating a 'Wonderful Wold Community' display in TLP, this grew and grew and grew! Thank you to everyone, including the teachers, who participated, it looks amazing in The Launch Pad. Mrs Riley decided to display it near the worry wall to remind us that if we have a worry we can remember to share and look to out wonderful Wold community for support. 

Kindness Kites

We finally retired the kindness quilt, which the children made several years ago. Eager to show and share what they know about kindness, the children worked to create kindness kites. They are marvelous and make such an impact when you walk in The Launch Pad. 

To reward the children, Mrs Riley gave each year group their own kite. The children were really creative and decorated them with positive messages and imagery.  They can keep these within their year groups and go and fly them on windy days, Mrs Riley hopes they foster a spirit of fun, playfulness and happiness.
