British Science Week 2026
Our Science week started off with a bang in an assembly with Miss Metcalf where we created Elephant Toothpaste! Lots of learners were so enthusiastic they tried to create experiments at home and complete science challenges meaning they were awarded with Science Star certificates. There were science activities all over the school: Foundation Stage became mini beast hunters. Year 1&2 explored habitats in forest school with Mrs Lester. Year 3 designed their own Lunar Rovers, ensuring they would be able to withstand a journey to the moon. Y4 were lucky enough to go on a trip to Colliderfest to explore science behind coding and watch a science show all about the science behind the Jurassic Period. Year 5 also had a busy week with a trip to Sirius where they took part in experiments and saw chemical reactions happen using a Bunsen Burner! Year 6 spent time sorting eco systems and have a STEM Lego workshop happening next week. It has all been very exciting and definitely got our children curious about questions in Science.
