Wednesday 11 March 2026 Royal Letter for F2 Child After a family trip to London, James showed a big interest in the landmarks and important people that live there so to follow his interests, we had lots of London themed enhancements in continuous provision. I challenged James to write a card for The King and Mrs Kennington posted it for us. A few weeks later, to our delight, we received a royal reply from Buckingham Palace, thanking James for his lovely card. James was over the moon.

Tuesday 10 March 2026 F2 Important People During F2s History unit 'Important People', we have been learning about important people within our school such as Mrs Eley our Principal, we have been learning about important people in our country such as King Charles III, and we have also been learning about important people within our community such as the lollipop person, doctors and firefighters. To enhance our topic, Tilly's mummy came into F2 to talk about her job role as a police officer. She came dressed in her uniform and showed us her handcuffs. It was very exciting. Tilly's mummy informed us on how to stay safe, particularly when crossing the road, and who to ring if there was an emergency. She told us that it is her job to help people and make sure people are following the rules and being safe. Finally, Tilly's mummy let us try on different uniforms and hats. We couldn't believe how heavy some of them were! Thank you again to Tilly's mummy ☺️

We also learnt about Claudius' successful invasion of Britain in 43AD, the origins of Hadrian's Wall and all about Boudicca ,the fierce Celtic warrior, and created speeches inspired by her. To top it off we invited our parents and carers in at the end of the day to be involved with some Roman activities and games.

Monday 2 February 2026 F2 Historians F2 have enjoyed becoming Historians and learning all about dinosaurs. We have visited a virtual museum to look at dinosaur fossils and we have become palaeontologists, excavating fossils (chocolate chips) from rocks (cookies). We have worked collaboratively and created dinosaur sculptures out of junk modelling, and we've also grouped dinosaurs into carnivores, herbivores and omnivores depending on their diet. Did you know T-Rex's teeth are the same size as bananas! It's safe to say that F2 children are dinosaur experts now.
